EXPERIENCE & PAST WORK
Being invited into your life and thought process is a fascinating and sacred process, and I take it seriously. As a Clinical Social Worker, I'm committed to helping you build healthy relationships.
I have a Master’s Degree from Columbia School of Social Work, and am currently on staff at the Institute For Contemporary Psychotherapy, where I completed a certificate program in their Families and Couples Treatment Services unit.
Previously, I worked for many years at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center in New York City. At The Center, I provided clinical services for adults of all ages, both couples and individuals. My work also focused on creating education programs for intended parents, including the annual LGBTQ Family Building Expo.
Approach & Demeanor
Finding the right therapist is an important step in your journey, and we'll decide together if we're a good match. My style is warm and inviting, and I aim to make you comfortable and feel safe in our sessions.
As a clinician, my work is psychodynamic, which means I believe that family and upbringing play a key role in how we relate to others, combined with our nature, life experiences, and support systems. All of these factors contribute to how you move through the world.
I’m a strong proponent of “unpeeling the onion”. We'll talk about your experiences and the underlying reasons for why you are the way you are. You may already know what you wish to change, but how to change it is often the challenge. Our work together will get you there.
